Site of a restaurant with 6 acres of bamboo groves, giant banyan trees, lily pond, thatched roof gazebos, and gardens. Can see Pali above. Being renovated at the moment. Popular for weddings. Private estate but public welcome.

Hawaii Nature Center

Non profit environmental education organization. Good to bring children along. Hikes are available to the public. On weekends center often hosts special weekend programs including exploration for children and hikes of various degrees of difficulty for adults.

Foster Botanical Garden

Approximately 4,000 tropical species of plants and trees. Near China town. Make reservations before you go. Guided tours available upon reservation.

Lyon Arboretum

200 acre graden consisting of rain forest, herb garden, lily pond and benches. Map available at check in point. The main trail takes approximately 45 min. Many side trails and a small water fall at the end of one of the trails.

Moanalua Gardens

Private property, call ahead of time. The Garden Foundation sponsors hikes that leave from Moanalua Garden to Moanalua Valley. You can also purchase a $5 booket guide at entrance.

Located near the airport and Tripler Army Hospital , on the outskirts of urban Honolulu. This public park, privately owned and managed, offers a wide range of walks, treks, hikes and cultural experiences, displays, and presentation year-round.
